Let’s face it, who gets a lunch hour any more? And even if you do, by the time you walk or drive somewhere, you’ve wasted half your lunch break. Here’s where to get in and out in 30 minutes when you find yourself in these bustling areas of town.
Buckhead
Farm Burger (3365 Piedmont Road N.E., Atlanta. 404-816-0603, farmburger.net). Find local beef, seasonal ingredients and, yes, yummy burgers (and amazing quinoa patties for the meat-averse). If the line looks long, snag a seat at the bar.
Decatur
Victory Sandwich Bar (340 Church St., Decatur. 404-377-9300, vicsandwich.com). The Jack and Coke slushie here might have to wait until happy hour, but you can get a sandwich plus chips and salad for less than $10.
Dunwoody/Perimeter
Alon's (4505 Ashford Dunwoody Road N.E., Atlanta. 678-397-1781, alons.com). Find plenty of sandwiches and salads made fresh daily, plus delectable sweets.
Midtown
Bantam & Biddy (1050 Crescent Ave. N.E., Atlanta. 404-835-6450, bantamandbiddy.com). Sean Doty's fast-casual, chicken-focused restaurant offers a $9.95 business lunch plate with your choice of meatloaf, a quarter-chicken or chicken and vegetable stew, plus one side, gluten-free jalapeno cornbread and a drink.
Old Fourth Ward
Spice to Table (659 Auburn Ave. N.E., Atlanta. 404-220-8945, spicetotable.com). Asha Gomez's Indian patisserie serves up spicy, homemade goodness such as her popular Kerala chicken and kathi rolls. Wash it all down with a glass of hot chai.
Westside
Souper Jenny (1082 Huff Road N.W., Atlanta. 404-603-9977, souperjennyatl.com). The westside outpost of the popular Buckhead lunch spot has all of the same delicious food with a quarter of the wait. The $14 lunch special gets you any two menu items, a roll, sweet treat, fresh fruit and your drink of choice.
