Eating weeds

I don’t want to think too hard about the fact that I went to a farmers market and paid for weeds. But I did. I noticed some lamb’s-quarters for sale at the Morningside Farmers Market. I remember foraging for these edible wild plants along the banks of a ravine near our house in Denver when we lived there. See the Food and More blog to learn how I prepared them.

Bankruptcies

The entities that control Joe’s on Juniper, Einstein’s, Garrison’s Broiler & Tap, Sugar Shack and Metrotainment Bakery filed for Chapter 11 on June 13. This comes in the wake of a judgment ordering the companies to repay more than $2.1 million in defaulted loan payments, accrued interest, late charges and attorney’s fees. Currently, there are no plans to close any of the restaurants included in the filing.
