Stone Mountain Park, the most visited attraction in Georgia, features popular attractions, festivals, and seasonal events for residents and tourists.

About 15 miles from Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park offers attractions, festivals, performances, dining, shopping, and museums. Stone Mountain features the largest relief carving in the world. The Confederate Memorial Carving depicts Southern leaders Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Confederate President Jefferson Davis.

Visitors can hike 6 different trails, including the Cherokee Trail (5 miles), Walk-Up Trial (1 mile), Nature Gardens Trail (.75 mile), Songbird Habitat Trail (2 miles), King's Trail at Indian Island (1 mile), and the Trail of the Muscogee (1.5 miles).

Stone Mountain presents the popular Lasershow Spectacular on its Memorial Lawn during the spring and summer months. The show features music, fireworks and special fire effects.

In his "I Have A Dream" speech, Dr. King spoke of a symbolic bell of freedom ringing from the tops of Stone Mountain to the hills of Tennessee. Visitors can climb the steep 1.3-mile trail to enjoy the summit views of the Atlanta skyline.

A historic covered bridge leads from the east side of Stone Mountain Park to a picnic area on Indian Island. Stone Mountain has been a favorite picnic spot for generations of Georgians, and couples can find a quiet spot to enjoy a basket of food and solitude on Indian Island.

Stone Mountain's man-made lake contains bass, carp, crappie, catfish, and bream. Visitors can also cruise the lake in Ride the Ducks amphibious boats.

Stone Mountain features many family-friendly attractions, including the water-based playground Geyser Towers, pictured above. Other attractions include the Great Barn, Sky Hike, the Antebellum Plantation, a miniature golf course, a petting zoo, and the Scenic Railroad.

Stone Mountain Park hosts the DockDogs World Championship Qualifiying event each year. National dog athletes show off their skills in Big Air, Speed Retrieve, Extreme Vertical, and Iron Dog trials.

Stone Mountain Park's Salute the Troops Weekend will offer discounts for both active and retired military, an extended patriotic fireworks finale, and special fire effects at the Lasershow Spectacular.

The annual Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain Park features more than 400 artists from all over the country over four days in September.

Stone Mountain Park hosts the annual Highland Games celebrating Scottish culture. The games include athletics, dancing, pipes and drums, harping and much more.

The annual Pumpkin Festival has become a family favorite with kids and parents alike. Event highlights include the Kids Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt, Costume Dance Party, storytelling, a pie eating contest, Pumpkin Palooza game show, Pumpkin Party Patch crafting area, and the Little Quarry Discovery Zone.

The four day festival, held at the park's historic Antebellum Plantation, showcases Native American culture through dance, music, authentic craft demonstrations, cooking traditions, storytelling, wildlife presentations and more.

The Scenic Railroad loops the perimeter of Stone Mountain Park.

Darrel Corradino (right), his daughter Cali and son Coby ride a family sized tube down Snow Mountain inside Stone Mountain Park. Snow Mountain has 20, 400 foot lanes for tubing, smaller tubing lanes for young children and a snow playground to build snowmen and forts.

Stone Mountain Park's Christmas activities include holiday lights, 4-d movie experiences, visits from Santa, live performances, and a Christmas parade.
