Whether you’re a cyclist or a casual fan of comedy, you can have a great weekend.

Just follow our suggestions for things to do this weekend in Atlanta and, at the very least, you’ll spend a few hours happy before you have to head back to work on Monday.

Atlanta Moon Ride

Before heading to the Atlanta Cycling Festival this weekend, head to Piedmont Park for the 4th annual Atlanta Moon Ride. The cycling event will take place this weekend, filling the streets with neon-lit bicycles and costumed riders.

Eight food trucks, including Fry Guy, Jim and Nicks and ATL Burger will be on hand selling tasty food for attendees as DJ Money Shot entertains the crowd at a pre-party before the ride takes place. Electric Avenue will perform their David Bowie and Prince tribute sets at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively.

The bike ride itself will take participants through Old Fourth Ward, Virginia Highland and other popular Atlanta neighborhoods at night, shutting down more than two miles of Piedmont Ave. for the event.

100 percent of proceeds from the event will go to Bert’s Big Adventure.

Atlanta Cycling Festival

There are plenty of opportunities for cyclists to take to the streets this weekend. From Atlanta Streets Alive, which will shut down nearly three miles of Peachtree Street, to the Beltline Mountain Bike Ride, there are several activities that will take place in Atlanta as a part of the Atlanta Cycling Festival.

“The Rise of Sneaker Culture”

This new High Museum exhibit will showcase 150 pairs of sneakers, displaying popular products from popular brands such as Converse and Puma. Shoes in the collection are from the Bata museum, private collections and manufacturer archives.
