Because they had a results show last week but none this week, "Dancing With the Stars"  basically eliminated the dancer who came in second from the bottom a week ago. Or something like that.

Anyway, mixed martial arts expert Randy Couture got the boot on movie night and was the third celebrity nixed.

Despite stiff movements, Couture wasn't a half bad dancer. He had a good attitude and was not hopeless. Still, he had no realistic shot at winning.

Though his dance tonight was not counted in the votes, he did end up with the lowest vote total with his "Rocky"-theme paso doble. Judge Julianne Hough said it lacked charm and Bruno Tonioli said his timing was off.

NASCAR dancer Michael Waltrip, a weaker dancer with a bigger fan base, stuck around.

So did the two very entertaining senior citizens Betsey Johnson and Tommy Chong, who ended up with the third highest score of the night after a very impressive Argentine Tango to Al Pacino's "Scent of a Woman." Betsey was simply elegant with her "Ghost" routine though Julianne roughed her up with a 6. "Point those toes," she said.

Kevin Hart was a celebrity judge for no particular reason except he is entertaining. His dance expertise? Minimal. He also gave much higher scores to Chong (a 10!) and Johnson (a 9!) than the regular judges.

And while Lea Thompson and Alfonso Ribeiro are sentimental favorites, a couple of younger female dancers pulled in the first perfect scores of the season between "Pretty Little Liars" actor Janel Parrish and YouTube star Bethany Mota.

Both ladies showed impressive grace tackling classics. Janel's jazz homage to "West Side Story" (even with the legal department telling them not to ape any of the film's dances) was full of delightful energy. Bethany faithfully channeled Gene Kelly  with Derek Hough in their take on "Dancing in the Rain."

The judges strucke me as extra tough on Lea and Alfonso. Alfonso's Austin Powers quick step was great fun. Lea's "Back to the Future" cha cha had a few glitches but made me smile. Carrie Ann said she looked uncomfortable.

Actor Jonathan Bennett and reality star Sadie Robertson were both in the middle, garnering 8s. Antonio Sabato Jr.'s technical skills are weak, even if he tries to make it up with personality.
