MK Nobilette's departure was a case of inevitability.
She's been near the bottom for weeks. I never felt she deserved a spot in the top 13 anyway. It was clear to anyone with a pulse that she was cannon fodder. It was just a matter of time for her departure. That time is now.
Her sloppy imperfect "Perfect" last night sealed the deal. Her ridiculous Bieber-like backwards ball cap and her perpetually blank look while singing doomed her from the get go. She was so laid back that it appeared she didn't care (though I'm sure that's not the case.)
Technically, she isn't a bad singer but not a great one either.
I predicted the bottom three would be CJ Harris (worst performance of the night), MK and Dexter Roberts. I called MK going home and nailed it. So I'm three for four so far in prognostication this year.
But Majesty Rose yet again was in the bottom three despite a decent cover of Avicii last night, or so I thought. CJ miraculously escaped harm. He may not be so lucky next week if he doesn't fix that "sharpness" issue quickly.
Otherwise, the hour included Jennifer Lopez trying to dial it back to 1998 and some new group Harry Connick Jr. likes whose name I've already forgotten.

Earlier today, I stopped by Shula's in Buckhead, where 92.9/The Game was doing a live show and season four "Idol" finalists Bo Bice and Anthony Fedorov came by to promote tomorrow's Rally Idol fundraiser at the Buckhead Theatre to promote research to cure childhood cancer. If this season is boring you, this will remind you of the show when its popularity was peaking. Season 10's Haley Reinhart was going to arrive later in the day. Bo was going to keep both of them at the Bice compound. He has 40 acres in Covington. He also planned to cook dinner for the mini-"Idol" reunion as well. (He knew Haley because they've done some shows together.) All three will be celebrity judges with Lauren Alaina tomorrow and don't be surprised if they sing as well.
