I'm still awaiting the police report for Wendell Pierce's alleged scuffle in the hotel lobby of the Loews Hotel in Atlanta over the weekend. I will update this with details once the Atlanta Police Department has it ready. We did just get his mug shot, which I've included above.

An APD spokesman did confirm his arrest happened early Saturday morning. (TMZ broke the news Sunday.)

The actor, who is in town shooting a film "One Last Thing" and is best known for his role on HBO's "The Wire," was charged with simple battery and released on $1,000 bail. He also recently shot the HBO film "Confirmation" locally, playing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas during the contentious 1991 hearings.

TMZ claimed he got into a fight with a couple over politics, specifically because he was a Hillary Clinton supporter and the woman in question was a Bernie Sanders fan. Pierce has not commented and the couple in question did not return calls and texts seeking details on what happened.
