From the Bert Show today, I heard about a website called cameo.com. It's a very simple concept: celebrities offer to provide video greetings to your favorite friend or family member - for a price.
So I sifted through thousands of options, an impressively varied list of famous, almost famous and kinda famous folk. It's fascinating how each celebrity judges their own worth. Some are comically high: Former Falcon Michael Vick is asking for $1,000 - more than actors Wesley Snipes ($500) and actor Sean Astin ($250).
Bargains? "Lois & Clark" star Dean Cain for just $60. Kevin Sorbo ("Hercules") can be had for a mere $50. Perez Hilton? $33.
Athletes generally charge more than reality stars, actors or musicians. Kareem Abdul-Jabar is a $500 price tag while Troy Aikman charges $400.
And like Uber, the celebrities are ranked based on how good their videos are. The average response time is usually included as well.
Comic Gilbert Gottfried ($150) is one of the most popular, with 420 videos and an average 4.9 out of 5 stars. He basically does some comedic riffing. And he typically responds within three hours! Carson Kressley ($65) has 444 reviews and a perfect 5 star rating.
I found seven current and past "Real Housewives of Atlanta" members. Not surprisingly, NeNe Leakes is tops at $300. Newcomer Shamari Devoe is asking for just $50.
NeNe Leakes: $300 (13 reviews, 4.7 out of 5 stars)
Cynthia Bailey: $200 (30 reviews, 5 stars)
Phaedra Parks: $200 (2 reviews, 5 stars)

Kim Zolciak: $200 (33 reviews, 4.9 stars)

Marlo Hampton: $200 (10 reviews, 5 stars)
