VH1's Star Jones drama 'Satan's Sisters' to be shot in Atlanta

VH1 is bringing its third scripted drama to Atlanta, following "Single Ladies" and "Hindsight." This time, it's "Satan's Sisters," based on Star Jones' bestselling novel of the same name.
It's a thinly disguised take on her life on "The View" featuring five women.
The press release descriptive:
"I would be lying if I said that 'Satan's Sisters' wasn't influenced by the soap opera life of daytime TV but it is a work of fiction," Jones said. "All the characters are inspired, in parts, by someone I've worked with, worked for, interviewed, was interviewed by and/or even prosecuted."
And like "Hindsight," this drama will be fictionally set in New York, which was home of "The View."
Another Atlanta tie: a "Satan's Sisters" executive producer Josh Berman co-created Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva," one of the first scripted shows to arrive in metro Atlanta after the 2008 tax credits were sweetened. (Both "Satan's Sisters" and "Drop Dead Diva" are products of Sony Pictures Entertainment, which has embraced Atlanta as a production site.)
Berman is also involved with an ABC pilot being shot here "Notorious."
"Single Ladies," based here, was shot for three seasons here in Atlanta, from 2011 to 2013. The fourth season was moved to Toronto and a new network (Centric), then cancelled. "Hindsight" aired last year but was nixed after a single season.
"Satan's Sisters" is set to debut in 2017.
