Everyone recognized Kevin Spacey last night at the Emmy's. But many people on Twitter went gaga over the attractive dude next to him:
But eagle-eyed viewers who knew about former Atlanta duo Evan & Jaron figured out who it was: Evan Lowenstein. Evan is now Spacey's talent manager. In 2000, he and his brother had a hit with the romantic "Crazy For This Girl."
On Evan's Twitter account, he self-deprecatingly describes himself thusly: "Let's party like it's 1999... so I can be famous again. Talent Manager. Founder of
. Formerly: Evan & Jaron (Crazy For This Girl)."
What's Stage It, you ask?
According to the website: "Stageit is an online venue where artists perform live, interactive, monetized shows for their fans directly from a laptop, offering fans unique experiences that are never archived." Artists include Jon Bon Jovi, Sara Bareilles, Jason Mraz, Rick Springfield, the Indigo Girls, Trey Songz, Bonnie Raitt, Jimmy Buffett and Phillip Phillips.
Interestingly, his brother Jaron says on Twitter that he represents talent as well. (His profile: One hit wonder. Twice. Evan and Jaron then Jaron and The Long Road to Love. Now managing talent for The Low Co.) He had a good laugh about all the Twitter buzz himself on Twitter:
I wrote about Jaron in August, 2010 after he had an out-of-the-box tongue-in-cheek country hit "Pray For You." I also spoke with Evan about their life after their "Crazy for This Girl" hit came out and the struggles not to be lumped in with the boy bands of that era.
"We turned down a lot of money and opportunities to not be that," his brother Evan said in 2010. "That really hurt us. We were too young. We couldn't fathom people couldn't get us."
Evan would soon start a family and the two would part ways with the pop world in 2003. He started StageIt in 2009.
