Ricky Gervais returns to host the Golden Globes for the first time in four years on Sunday, a big party with lots of new TV shows and actors getting nominations. It airs NBC.
Three veteran reality competition shows return: "The Bachelor" Monday for its 20th round on ABC, NBC's "The Biggest Loser" the same night for its 17th season and "American Idol" Wednesday on Fox for its final round.
Two women are doing double duty. Jane Lynch stars in a new sitcom debuts on CBS Thursday ("Angel From Hell") while continuing to host "Hollywood Game Night" on NBC. (She is also hosting the People's Choice Awards Wednesday.) And Jennifer Lopez plays a dirty cop on "Shades of Blue" on NBC Sunday while also judging "Idol" for a fourth time.
This covers Monday, January 4 through Sunday January 10.
MONDAY
"The Bachelor" 8 p.m. ABC (20th season debut) — Ben Higgins meets 28 bachelorettes, which include identical twin sisters.
"Antiques Roadshow" 8 p.m. GPB (20th season debut) — Spokane, with items such as a 1919 Belmont Stakes trophy; 1963 "The Avengers" comics; and two Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso oil paintings.
"Superhuman" 8 p.m. Fox — Twelve regular folks including Atlanta chef Will Brown with "super human" talents focused on the senses such as taste, sight and smell vie for $100,000.
"Supergirl" 8 p.m. CBS — Supergirl finds herself in a tense standoff with Non as she tries to rescue Hank from his clutches.
"The Biggest Loser" 9 p.m. NBC (17th season debut) — Richard Hatch and a lot of Georgians compete for the $500,000 prize.
"The Breaks" 9 p.m. VH1 — Three friends with a passion for hip-hop pursue their dreams to make it in the music industry in New York City during the 1990s.
"Scorpion" 9 p.m. CBS — The team must brave the cold in Antarctica in order to save a U.S. Special Forces unit.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" 9:59 p.m. CBS —Kensi and Deeks go undercover at a decommissioned nuclear power plant to investigate the radiation poisoning of a gunnery sergeant.
"Cartel Land" 10 p.m. A&E — A look at two vigilante groups and their mutual enemy, the Mexican drug cartels.
"The Bachelor Live " 10:01 p.m. ABC — Like "Talking Dead" minus the zombies.
TUESDAY
"Finding Your Roots" 8 p.m. GPB (third season debut) — Democratic strategist Donna Brazile, actor Ty Burrell and artist Kara Walker, who learn how the legacy of slavery has helped shape them.
"Hollywood Game Night" 8 p.m. NBC — Kevin Smith, Dave Foley, Tony Hale, Alyson Hannigan, Justin Long and Helen Hunt play.
"NCIS" 8 p.m. CBS — The passengers and crew of a private plane traveling from New Orleans to Washington, D.C.
"Rickey Smiley for Real" 8 p.m. TV One (first season finale) — Rickey has a big announcement at the Magic City Classic.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine " 9 p.m. Fox — Charles and Genevieve want to take their relationship to the next level.
" Chicago Fire " 9 p.m. NBC — Squad members gather at Chicago Med after one of their own is attacked
"Dance Moms " 9 p.m. Lifetime (sixth season debut) —Alex's upcoming tonsillectomy makes the whole family nervous.

"Law & Order: SVU " 9 p.m. NBC — A rendezvous with a teacher is planned by a high-school student, but the situation turns much more dangerous for the teen.
"Modern Family " 9 p.m. ABC — Clair and Phil make dinner plans with a couple they met on vacation whose only flaw is never offering to pay the bill.
"American Crime " 10 p.m. ABC (second season debut) — Set in Indianapolis, this anthology explores accusations of sexual assault involving teens at two different high schools, one public and one private.
"American Horror Story " 10 p.m. FX — Ramona gets vitality from an unlikely source.
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" 10 p.m. FXX (11th season debut) — The gang agree to a truce and demonstrate Chardee MacDennis for an interested board game executive, but things quickly go off the rails.
