I will say upfront that I am writing this partially because my wife Helen Kim Ho is also being honored. But here we go:

Steve Harvey morning show co-host Shirley Strawberry and "Property Virgins" host Egypt Sherrod are among those being honored by the Cafe Mocha radio show and Majic 107.5/97.5 August 6 at the Commerce Club downtown.

The syndicated radio show, which airs from 6 to 8 p.m. Sundays on Majic, features hip hop legend MC Lyte, actress/comedienne Loni Love and broadcast veteran Angelique Perrin, who will all be there to honor the six women.  Tickets are available here for $50 and proceeds go to support My Sister's House, a long-term, Christ-centered, 128-bed intensive residential discipleship program for women, and women with children, who are seeking recovery from chemical dependency, domestic violence, and other life-controlling problems. .

Strawberry, who has worked with Harvey for many years on his morning show, is taking home the "Media Legend 'Woman of Style' Award." Sherrod, who worked for two years at V-103 until last year and has been host of HGTV's "Property Virgins" the past three years, won the "Media Innovator Award."

And my wife, who runs a civil rights non-profit group Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta, is winning the community activist award.

With Jon Stewart in his final days as "Daily Show" host, his fine producers compiled a video of his various mock "endorsements" over the years, most of them centered around a certain Atlanta-based fast-food joint that specializes in roast beef.  You and your intestines know it's... Arby's!
