The past two weeks have not been kind to metro Atlantans competing on TV.

Both Atlantans - James David Carter and Jean Kelley - were bounced off their respective teams on "The Voice" Wednesday night after performances that failed to ignite fan's interest. It was the first live show and trimmed the top 20 quickly down to 12.

Country singer Carter's effort to show his lighter side with Garth Brooks"'Two of a Kind, Workin' on a Full House" but the risk didn't pay off.

Pop singer Kelley's emotive version of Brenda Russell's "Piano in the Dark" didn't click. Her song didn't even make the top 200 on iTunes so her departure wasn't a surprise.

And as previously reported, "Survivor" last week lost Julie McGee, who quit, effectively saving Jeremy from a blindside. She was on Jeremy's team but ultimately, dynamics shifted and Jeremy's enemy Josh ended up getting bounced Wednesday night. This just goes to show you that predictability is not a common dynamic on "Survivor."

Rosebud owner Ron Eyester's departure from "Top Chef" two weeks ago didn't leave much of a ripple but he is focused on the future: his Diner at Atlantic Station, set to open soon.

And on Tuesday, Dacula's Andrew Moore landed a tough "Jeopardy" board and a tough competitor in Arthur Chu and came up short on the $250,000 Tournament of Champions. You can't feel too bad for him, though: he previously won more than $137,000 from the classic game show.
