Kyle Chrisley, the estranged son of former Atlanta-based father and reality show star Todd Chrisley, told Channel 2 Action News that his father went to great lengths to pretend the family lived in Florida to avoid paying taxes in Georgia.

This followed up an original WSB-TV report last month where a bankruptcy trustee had seen Chrisley's taxes from 2004 to 2011 but never saw Georgia state taxes filed. The report indicates Todd Chrisley likely evaded paying Georgia taxes for at least seven years. The state is now investigating the claims and talked to Kyle.

"I think he's trying to hide money," Kyle told reporter Jodie Fleischer. "He doesn't like to pay what he owes."

USA's "Chrisley Knows Best" became a hit in 2014 and is in its fifth season. Chrisley moved to Nashville last year but Kyle still lives locally.

Kyle appeared on the show the first season but has since cut ties with his family. When I asked Todd about Kyle during a phone press conference last year, he categorically refused to comment about his son.

In 2015, Kyle told The Daily Mail that he believed his dad was "manipulative" and "vindictive," plus "a snake who shut me out of my child's life." Todd later told E! News that Kyle, who has struggled with drugs, was bipolar. Kyle has been in a custody battle over his daughter Chloe with his parents.
