Kim Zolciak reported to her 2.4 million Instagram followers and 2.1 million Facebook fans that her four-year-old son was seriously injured by a dog bite and is now hospitalized.

The reality star of Bravo's show "Don't Be Tardy" wrote earlier this afternoon that her past 14 hours have "been a living nightmare."

Kash Biermann "was bit by a dog and had very traumatic injuries," she wrote. "I've never prayed so hard or been so scared in my life." She wrote that he was in an operating room for a couple of hours but she is "praying for a quick speedy recovery."

She provided no details about the dog itself, its owner or the circumstances behind the incident. (Nobody has seen a police report. Presumably, she will tell the entire story to somebody exclusively in the future.)

As a result, she was unable to make Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens Live" Sunday night. TMZ reported earlier this week that she will return to "Real Housewives of Atlanta" part time season 10 though Bravo has not confirmed this.

UPDATE: At about 2 p.m. EST Monday, she posted a social media update on Kash's status: "Kash is going home today earlier than expected." She repeated the same line from yesterday: "Praying for a speedy recovery." She still has not offered any explanation about how this all happened but thanked fans for sending "positive energy" their way.
