If you thought "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" was yesterday's news, not so.
This past Sunday, the Bravo reality show that won't stop hit a new milestone: 4.52 million viewers in first viewing. That's the highest number of overnight viewers since the show debuted, beating a season 3 reunion show which drew nearly 4.4 million viewers.
Nearly 100 episodes of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" have aired since 2008. Amazingly, the show is getting more popular. And over the years, more people now use DVRs and those numbers are not included here. Repeats aren't included either. (Another 1.3 million people watched the show when it aired at midnight this past Sunday.)
Interestingly, this episode did not feature any physical fights, just tensions among Phaedra Parks and an ex boyfriend Chuck Smith; Cynthia Bailey and her husband and sister; and Kandi Burruss and her mom.
Season to date after 10 episodes, the show is now averaging 3.6 million viewers, up from 3.1 million a year ago.
Clearly, Kim Zolciak's departure last season did not hurt the show. And neither did keeping the same cast as season five, which happened to be the best performing season until season six.
Zolciak told In Touch recently that now that she's done pumping out four babies in three years, she is open to returning to "Real Housewives."
The magazine said Bravo is in production of a third season of her spin-off show "Don't Be Tardy." The show saw a drop-off in viewership season two last year, averaging about 1.1 million viewers.
