There is evidence online via photos and video that Fox 5 anchor Cynne Simpson is dating actor and comedian Chris Tucker and two sources say they are even engaged.

A source inside the newsroom said she was showing her ring around.

As for her being married? Despite rumors, I'm told that is not the case.

A Puerto Vallarta online publication in July posted a photo of Tucker and Simpson together and identified Simpson as his girlfriend. The story led with this:

Popular actor and comedian Chris Tucker, known for his role in the "Rush Hour" trilogy, and other blockbuster films like "Friday," "Money Talks" and "The Fifth Element," recently enjoyed three days in Puerto Vallarta with his son, Destin, and his girlfriend, FOX 5 Atlanta commentator, Cynné Simpson.

In this promotional video, the couple is shown dancing, with a momentary kiss.

An insider at Fox 5 told me he has heard she is dating Tucker and may possibly be engaged but is not sure if she has actually tied the knot.

Simpson worked at CBS46 for four years from 2003-2007 before spending six years in D.C. at the ABC affiliate.

She returned to Atlanta just over a year ago. She co-anchors the 5 p.m and 10 p.m. newscasts.

I spoke with her last October by phone but have never met her.  "It's been such a smooth transition," Simpson said during that interview. "I love it here. I love the community. I love the climate. I love the restaurant scene. This is where I was meant to be."

Simpson interviewed Tucker last fall for Fox 5. The clips from their interview seem pretty straightforward.

In 2010, Simpson and Tucker cohosted a U.S. Dream Academy gala in D.C.
