In a not terribly shocking result, Atlanta's Violet Chachki took home the seventh season crown of "RuPaul's Drag Race" on Logo Monday night.

Violet's finely tuned fashion sense, confident persona, sharp tongue and ridiculously skinny waist line made her a front runner from the very first challenge. From there, she didn't let up, pocketing two more challenge wins and never having to lip sync for her life.

RuPaul, the drag superstar who spent many of her formative drag years in Atlanta, picked someone from here to win for the first time. (She had final call on the winner.)

Violet (real name Jason Dardo) is only 22 years old and has been in the Atlanta drag community for less than four years. But she has proven to be a quick learner, working all the major drag locales in town, and thinks she created a distinctive look and style that evoke the past, present and future. She'll be at the Heretic Friday night for her first public appearance after the win.

Her final two challenges on the show were her friend Pearl, who had a similar style as Violet but wasn't nearly as polished, and Ginger Minj, a gifted comedienne trying to be the first plus-sized winner. Violet was the clear favorite to win.

During the season finale, taped a couple of weeks ago at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theater, each of the three finalists were shot as if they were the winner so the audience wouldn't know ahead of time who took home the $100,000. (The cameras spent a lot of time showing Miley Cyrus in the house.)
