T he SEC Network, set to debut in time for the college football season August 14, will likely be available on Comcast, the biggest cable provider in Atlanta. The ESPN-owned network has already signed on with Dish Network, Google Fiber and AT&T UVerse.

"We’re continuing discussions with ESPN on the SEC Network and are optimistic we’ll come to an agreement in the near future," wrote an SEC spokesman in an email. "I don’t have any specifics to share but when we reach an agreement I expect I’ll be able to share that kind of information."

DirecTV has not signed a deal yet. Charter Communications says it's still in talks with the SEC Network.

On the www.getsecnetwork.com, Georgia only comes in 9th out of 14 teams in terms of demand for the new service. Alabama fans came in first.

The first Georgia game scheduled on the SEC Network is vs. Troy on Sept. 20. The network is set to host 45 SEC football games, 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, 75 baseball games, 50 softball games, 40 volleyball games and 25 women's soccer games.
