CNN anchor Poppy Harlow passed out live at the anchor desk this morning.

At 9:08 a.m., she was explaining a poll when her speech slurred, then stopped. The producers cut to commercial. When she returned, she explained: "I got a little hot and I passed out for a moment."

Christine Romans then subbed in for Harlow. Harlow announced last month that she is pregnant, expecting a daughter. TV Newser reports she is due this spring.

Harlow, 33, is now a regular weekend anchor for CNN who was filling in this morning for Carol Costello. She began her weekend work earlier this year.

She works out of New York, where most of the anchors are now based. She joined CNN in 2008 and has worked as a business correspondent and anchor for CNNMoney.com.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
