It's a brand new year and plenty of action is to be had, both fresh and not so fresh.

A few aging reality shows come back including the 19th version of "The Bachelor" Monday and 14th version of "American Idol" Wednesday.

Then there are two lightweight awards shows - People's Choice on CBS Wednesday and the Golden Globes on NBC Sunday.

Plus, Fox's final season of "Glee" with 13 episodes returns, buried on Friday after horrid ratings last year. And HBO ("Girls," "Togetherness," "Looking") and Showtime ("Shameless" "House of Lies," "Episodes") each bring a trio of fresh shows to the air on Sunday.
