It's the true dog days of summer (and in many ways, the beginning of school despite the calendar) and not much is coming and going.

And there are sharks. Lots of them. Discovery is back with Shark Week, somehow finding enough material to fill many hours of original programs about the scary creatures. I didn't list many of the actual programs so you can just find them here.

VH1's 'Hit the Floor" hits the road Monday, along with the summer finale of "Major Crimes" and the season finale "Murder in the First."

A&E's 'Duck Dynasty" closes its sixth season Wednesday while NBC's "Last Comic Standing" and Fox's 'Gang Related" finishes its run Thursday.

Among returning series, you've got TNT's "Franklin & Bash" Wednesday and Food's "Great Food Truck Race" Sunday.

The biggest new series will be TNT's "Legends" on Wednesday about an undercover agent.

This covers Monday, August 11 to Sunday, August 17.

MONDAY

"Bachelor in Paradise" 8 p.m. ABC — A scandalous relationship between a previously ousted contestant and a crew member comes to light.

"Running Wild with Bear Grylls " 8 p.m. NBC Channing Tatum and Bear go on a two-day trek through California's Yosemite National Park.

"America's Got Talent" 9 p.m. NBC — Two locals perform: Adrian Romoff, nine-year-old prodigy, and Dragon House "Agents" dance crew.

"Idiot Test " 9 p.m. GSN (new series) — Contestants answer questions that test their observation and general-knowledge skills.
