Neil Patrick Harris, already the consummate host for the Emmys and the Tonys, will slide into the often thankless role as Oscars host on Sunday.

He'll have plenty of controversy to tackle: debate over the racial makeup of the nominees, the controversy over "American Sniper," whether "Boyhood" or "Birdman" (or something else?) will win.

There's plenty else to watch: a Steve Wonder tribute on CBS Monday, a three-day miniseries on BET Monday through Wednesday, a dog show (Westminster style) Tuesday and a revival of "The Odd Couple" on Thursday.

Earlier in the week, CBS is ending the run of two of its long-running shows: drama "The Mentalist" ends a shortened season on Wednesday over two hours. On Thursday, will Charlie Sheen show up again for the series finale of "Two and a Half Men"? Probably.

NBC is finishing up "Celebrity Apprentice" and "State of Affairs" (which may or may not come back) on Monday. CBS closes a sixth season on "Undercover Boss" on Friday, a show that still manages to fool employees time and time again.

History also brings back "Viking" Thursday and TLC keeps spawning seasons of "19 Days & Counting."
