Last Wednesday, season six "Idol" winner Jordin Sparks had her first baby DJ with husband Dana Isaiah Thomas Jr. in Los Angeles.
Three days later, she popped up at the premiere of her film "Show Dog" looking impressive in a Saloni floral mini dress with a plunging v-neck and a pair of black strappy heels.
"It was just this incredibly miraculous, beautiful moment that I don't know could ever be duplicated or replicated," Sparks told People at the event. "Like you see it in movies, how emotional people get, but until you are actually sitting there it's beyond anything I've ever felt in my life."

Kelly Clarkson is hosting Billboard Music Awards on NBC on Sunday, May 20 up against the penultimate season episode of "American Idol."
"The Voice" is now in the top 10 and Kelly has two singers left. MJ's Big Blog thinks her best shot at winning is 15-year-old Brynn Cartelli.
That show's season finale will air on Tuesday, May 22. Its penultimate episode will go up against the "Idol" season finale.

My top five power rankings for "American Idol," which returns Sunday night with the top five performing Carrie Underwood songs. She will get to perform her newest single "Cry Pretty," now up to No. 18.
1- Caleb Lee Hutchinson. He has done nothing to change his status on top. He has been strong and his "When Doves Cry" was especially effective. (last week: 1)
2- Gabby Barrett. She has been cruising with okay performances for awhile but her Prince cover truly showed off her stage and vocal power. (last week: 2)
3- Cade Foehner. He is the rock guy and he has shown his ability to take non-rock songs and make it work for himself. (last week: 3)
4- Maddie Poppe. She is a great singer-songwriter type but her type of singer (Jax, Jenna Irene, Crystal Bowersox) doesn't tend to win in this competition. (last week: 4)
5- Michael J Woodard. He is cool and different enough but he is the least marketable of the five in terms of pop possibilities. I'm not sure he did much on Sunday to change that perception. (last week: 6)

"American Idol" ratings were largely the same last night as the week earlier at about 8.6 million including the live shows on the West Coast. The show was just renewed last week and there is some murmurings they may give it a longer season to boot.

Clay Aiken Tweet of the Week:
He noted that the "Idol" judges now are totally de-fanged. "Bible School Talent Show"? Ouch!
