Three public events are scheduled for the late broadcaster Amanda Davis on January 2 and 3, 2018. I plan to attend the funeral service on Wednesday. No video or photos will be allowed inside the venue but I will update via Tweets and keep a blog entry continuously updated.
- A public viewing is set from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home at 4347 Flat Shoals Parkway in Decatur.
- A public ceremony called "Ivy Beyond the Wall" held for Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority members is going to be held at Saint Philips AME Church at 240 Candler Road in Atlanta at 7 p.m. on January 2.
- A public funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3 at Cascade United Methodist Church at 3144 Cascade Road, SW in Atlanta. Cascade holds about 1,500 people. The family has requested no cameras though you will be able to live stream the event here on the Cascade website.
Davis, who worked at Channel 2 Action News, WAGA-TV (now Fox 5) and most recently at CBS46, passed away following a massive stroke this past Wednesday night. She was 62.
