Alec Baldwin, a huge fan of older films, will take over for the late Robert Osborne as the host of the weekly TCM show "The Essentials."

Baldwin co hosted the show with Osborne at Turner's Midtown studios from 2009 to 2011.

His scheduled guest hosts include former "30 Rock" buddy Tina Fey and David Letterman, who will join Baldwin for the first episode May 6 at 8 p.m. screening "The Bad and the Beautiful." Fey is scheduled to appear June 24.

TCM's original host Osborne died last month, though nobody has said from what.

"I have some big shoes to fill hosting The Essentials, and I plan on doing Bob proud with this new season of The Essentials," Baldwin said in a press release.
