We've all dated terrible people, but a new low has been reached in Scotland where a man has taught his girlfriend's dog the Nazi salute.

A YouTube video posted by "Count Dankula" shows 28-year-old Scottish nimrod Markus Meechan bragging about turning a "cute and adorable wee dog" into the worst thing he could think of other than himself.

The video shows the pug watching Hitler videos on TV and saluting with an outstretched paw every time he hears "Sieg Heil."

The dog, who was named after a much better role model, Buddha, also reacts when hearing anti-Semitic expressions I won't soil your brain with.

Meechan was arrested on suspicion of a hate crime and spent the night in jail.

Police said "The clip is deeply offensive and no reasonable person can possibly find the content acceptable in today’s society."

After being released, Meechan apologized to the Jewish community for his video, but didn't remove it from YouTube where it has more than 1.5 million views.

"Honestly, I don’t hate anyone, the whole purpose of this was just to annoy my girlfriend," Meechan said.

If his girlfriend, Suzanne, has any sense she's looking for a new boyfriend and a dog untrainer.
