There was no shortage of drama in Whitney Houston’s life, so it’s hardly surprising that an inevitable documentary about the fallen superstar is in the works.
Showtime Documentary Films has started production on a Houston film that will shoot in Los Angeles and include interviews with “key people” in her life.
The as-yet-unnamed documentary will be produced, directed and narrated by Nick Broomfield, a BAFTA winner responsible for the “Kurt & Courtney” film about Kurt Cobain and “Tales of the Grim Sleeper,” a documentary about a Los Angeles serial killer.
The Houston film is expected to delve into her turbulent marriage to Bobby Brown and her many years of struggling with the addictions that plagued her awards-laden career.
Houston's 2012 death at the age of 48 will also likely be explored, as well as last year's grim death of daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in Atlanta.
