The Go-Go’s are saying goodbye with an 18-date summer tour. But if you live in Atlanta and want to see the ladies one more time, a road trip will be necessary.
Singer Belinda Carlisle (who plays Center Stage April 2), guitarist Jane Wiedlin, multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Caffey and drummer Gina Schock will kick off the tour Aug. 2 in Clearwater, Fla., and wrap Aug. 30 in Los Angeles. In between, they’ll play cities including Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Asbury Park, N.J.
"After a 38-year run, we are gearing up for one last blast of a summer tour," the band said in a statement. "We feel so lucky and so grateful to have had the incredible support of our fans for so long. We can't wait to get out on the road and give the people what they want: some loud, fast music and a great party!"
Singer Kaya Stewart (daughter of Eurythmics' Dave Stewart) and indie rockers Best Coast will open certain dates.
The Go-Go’s performed at Chastain Park Amphitheatre in August 2011 (they also played a private event at Centennial Olympic Park in 2013).
