Last fall, Ne-Yo announced on Twitter that he was "blessed" to be expecting a child with then-girlfriend Crystal Renay.
Renay is now his wife – the pair married last month – and the mother of Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr., who was born this week.
Renay posted a photo on her Instagram page of the cutie with the hashtag #HeIsPERFECT.
Ne-Yo (aka Shaffer Chimere Smith) also took to social media to share a photo of himself holding his new son with the message, “Gonna do EVERYTHING in my power to make sure ALL my children never need for anything EVER.”
Renay underwent an emergency C-section on Wednesday and later commented on Instagram that it “was the scariest delivery ever,” but that she pulled through with the help of her “amazing” doctor and her new husband.
Ne-Yo, whose extensive hit list includes “So Sick,” “Closer” and “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself”), owns a condo in Atlanta.
The singer-songwriter also has two young children with his ex- fiancée, Monyetta Shaw, who starred on "Atlanta Exes," which VH1 nixed after one season.
