Pop singer Aaron Carter was arrested in Habersham County Saturday night for suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.

CNN reports that Carter, the younger brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, was detained about 9 p.m. in the county, about 90 minutes north of Atlanta.

As of Sunday afternoon, he remains in Habersham County jail on $4,600 bond.

The singer, 29, was reportedly in the vehicle with his photographer girlfriend Madison Parker, who was arrested and charged with obstruction and two drug-related charges.

Earlier Saturday, the singer’s Twitter account posted a message that Carter wouldn’t be able to make his scheduled show that night in Kansas City due to “transportation issues.”

On Thursday, Carter had a show in Charlotte designed to showcase new music.

Throughout the summer, he’s performed at various festivals and radio station-sponsored shows; his next scheduled appearance is Monday in Birmingham, Ala.

Carter’s biggest success came in the early-‘00s with the pop songs “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)”and a remake of the Bow Wow Wow hit, “I Want Candy.”

In February, he released the five-song EP “LøVë” on iTunes.
