Since saying goodbye to late-night TV with his boss David Letterman nearly two years ago, bandleader Paul Shaffer has hardly been idle.

Now he’s going to be much more visible, too.

The ace musician and The World's Most Dangerous Band return on March 17 with their first album in 24 years, a collection of a dozen songs featuring genre-spanning guests Darius Rucker, Shaggy, Dion, Valerie Simpson, Bill Murray and Jenny Lewis (with a tribute to David Bowie called "Sorrow").

To complement the album, Shaffer and his iconic band - Felicia Collins (guitar), Anton Fig (drums), Will Lee (bass), Sid McGinnis (guitar), and Tom Malone, Frank Greene, and Aaron Heick (horns) – will hit the road April 1 for a 15-date tour that will visit Atlanta this summer.

Shaffer and the gang – including guest singer Simpson - will play Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre at 7:30 p.m. June 11. Tickets are $42-$102 and are on sale now at the venue box office, www.ticketmaster.com and by calling 1-800-745-3000.
