For a period in the mid-‘90s through the mid-‘00s, Oasis was the biggest band in the world.
The drama between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher fueled their mystique and kept them on the covers of British tabloids for years – but all the while they were churning out rather brilliant rock ‘n’ roll.
The Brothers Gallagher still have a tempestuous relationship – they pretty much don’t speak and when they do reference each other in the press, there is usually an insult or three tossed around – but the British press is aflutter that the pair might attend the premiere of their new documentary together.
Or not.
In any case, fans of Oasis' robust music ("Champagne Supernova" still ranks among the best songs of the past two decades) and of the band's history might want to check out "Supersonic," the upcoming documentary produced by a team including Asif Kapadia, who so deftly handled the Oscar-winning Amy Winehouse documentary, "Amy."
The film will receive a one-night-only play in the U.S. on Oct. 26. In Atlanta, it will screen at Midtown Art Cinema at 7 and 9:30 p.m. A dvance tickets are available for $15.
