If you missed Motley Crue's Atlanta farewell last summer, well, good news – they're saying goodbye…again…THIS summer.
The band announced Tuesday it will conclude its two-year “Final Tour” with a New Year’s Eve show in its hometown of Los Angeles with a blowout at the Staples Center.
But first there is a new slate of dates to perform, including 7 p.m. Aug. 30 at Philips Arena. As with their show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta last year, Alice Cooper is the opening guest. (Hopefully at this indoor venue, Tommy Lee’s “Cruecifly” drum coaster will be set up – its absence at last year’s show was a major letdown.)
Tickets are $20-$125 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 to the general public via www.ticketmaster.com, the Philips Arena box office, 1-800-745-3000 and all Ticketmaster outlets.
Various VIP packages and a fan club pre-sale begin at 10 a.m. Jan. 21 with a Citicard member pre-sale launching at 5 p.m. the same day.
The Crue will also perform on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Jan. 22 to celebrate this announcement of final, final dates. The band also released the new single, "All Bad Things," on Tuesday (download it here) and is giving away its "Greatest Hits" album for free this week via Google Play (download it here).
Last year’s Crue concerts grossed about $45 million playing 72 cities. This leg will include 34 dates in North America.
