The 72nd edition of the Macy’s Atlanta Great Tree Lighting will include a musical backdrop from Lea Michele, CeCe Winans and Carly Pearce.

The event, Nov. 24 at Lenox Square (parking is limited, MARTA use is encouraged), will also air live on WSB-TV.

Actress/singer Michele - known for her work on Broadway and in “Glee” - along with gospel staple Winans and country music’s Pearce kick off the entertainment at 6:30 p.m., with the tree lighting ceremony slated to begin at 7 p.m. The Macy’s All-Star Holiday Choir, Macy’s Children’s Choir and Macy’s Magical Stars will also perform.

Two patients from the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – 5-year-old Brooks and 10-year-old Makayla – will serve as honorary tree lighters and help “flip the switch” to illuminate the tree.

As is tradition, the evening’s conclusion includes a fireworks finale set to holiday music in keeping with the theme of “Believe in Wonder.”

The installment of the Atlanta Great Tree – an eco-friendly, reusable tree that stands 56 feet tall and will be adorned with 45,000 multi-colored LED lights – begins Nov. 11 and will take two days and a team of 12 to complete.
