As he proclaimed on Twitter Monday afternoon, “I’m an author now.”
That’s the latest career exploration for Gucci Mane, who will release “The Autobiography of Gucci Mane” on Sept. 19.
The book, co-written with Neil Martinez-Belkin and published via Simon & Schuster, is available now for pre-order on Amazon for $27 . Mane said he started writing the book while serving a 39-month sentence in a maximum-security federal prison for firearm possession, among other charges. He was released in May 2016 and quickly worked to revitalize his musical career and live a sober lifestyle .
In the 288-page tome, the Atlanta rapper born Radric Davis will expound on his Alabama roots, the creation of Gucci Mane in East Atlanta, his prison stints, drug addiction and, of course, “the making of a trap god.”
Since his release from prison, Mane released the critically heralded ninth studio album, "Everybody Looking" in July, the mixtape "Woptober" in October and in December, "The Return of East Atlanta Santa."
