[Congrats to our winner, Ann F., and thanks to all who participated!]
It was a big night for Little Big Town at the CMA Awards on Wednesday, where the quartet scored vocal group of the year honors for the third consecutive time.
Onstage, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet dazzled with light-up costumes and a taut rendition of their breezy “Day Drinking.”
While they might not have quite that level of razzle-dazzle on their tour to support their sixth studio album, "Pain Killer" – "So many people and so many wires in all kinds of places," joked Schlapman backstage at the CMAs – they will bring 12 years of hits to the tour, which launches Saturday in Ohio.
“Country music fans are the best and we want to give them something exciting,” Fairchild said of the group’s philosophy.
On Nov. 15, Little Big Town will play a sort of homecoming gig at the Fox Theatre – Schlapman is a native of Cornelia and Fairchild graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta – and thanks to our friends with the venue, I have a pair of tickets to give away.
Here is the drill to enter:
Email me at mruggieri@ajc.com by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Please put “Little Big Town tickets” in the subject field. If you address it otherwise, your email will wind up amid the thousands in my inbox and I’ll find it six months from now.
Also, only one entry per email address, and please don’t enter if you aren’t sure you’ll be able to attend. The winner will be contacted directly and announced on this blog post.
There are no requirements to win, but I'd appreciate a follow on Facebook and/or Twitter .
The show takes place at 7:30 p.m. Freshly minted CMA new artist of the year Brett Eldredge –who said backstage at the CMAs that he loves Frank Sinatra and tries to emulate his classic vibe – and Brothers Osborne will open.
Tickets are still available for purchase for $27-$56.50 at www.foxtheatre.org.
