It isn’t every day that I have the opportunity to co-host a private movie screening.

Nor is it every day that the words “Meryl Streep” and “Rick Springfield” are used in the same sentence.

So I’m excited to say that I and my good buddy Kaedy Kiely from 97.1 The River – you can catch us doing us a music news bit on Wednesdays at 6:50 and 7:50 a.m. – are helming a screening of “Ricki and the Flash," starring Streep and Springfield, next week.

I recently talked to Springfield – who will be in town Aug. 29 to perform at Chastain Park Amphitheatre – about his role in the film and he said he was blown away by Streep’s commitment to playing a musician.

“She’s amazing. She does a solo (in the movie) and I can’t stress enough how this is all real – there are no overdubs, no lip synching,” he said.

So, if you’d like to get a sneak peek at Streep and Springfield sharing an onscreen stage prior to the movie’s Aug. 7 opening, here’s the drill.

I have 10 pairs of tickets to give away to 10 different people to attend a screening at an Atlanta theater the evening of Aug. 3 (winners will receive full details).

To enter, make sure you're following me on Twitter and/or Facebook and zip me an email at mruggieri@ajc.com. Feel free to tell me why you love Springfield or Streep; it's not a requirement, but I enjoy reading your stories.

Entries will be accepted until noon Thursday. Please only enter once per email address and submit with “RICKI MOVIE” in the subject line. Anything else in the subject line and it gets deleted. I will randomly select 10 winners and contact you directly with RSVP details.

Good luck!
