The soundtrack to “Dear Evan Hansen” landed in the Billboard 200 with a smash upon its release in February.
Now the Tony-decorated musical will have its songs unveiled on vinyl this summer, when "Dear Evan Hansen (Original Broadway Cast Recording)" arrives July 21. Pre-orders are available here.
The soundtrack for the Ben Platt-fronted show – which nabbed six Tony Awards , including best musical and best lead actor in a musical for Platt – debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard chart, marking the highest debut for a cast album since "Camelot" arrived at No. 4 in 1961 (yes, even "Hamilton" bowed at No. 12).
Following Platt’s performance of the song “Waving Through a Window” on the Tonys, the song debuted on the Digital Songs Sales Chart; overall album streams rose to 4.4 million this week.
