BY MELISSA RUGGIERI

For Collective Soul fans, the release of “See What You Started By Continuing” can’t come soon enough.

The long-awaited album (which, trust me, was worth the wait considering how terrifically robust it turned out) will arrive Oct. 2, and the Stockbridge natives will perform in their hometown the following night at The Tabernacle.

The tour to support the album launches Sept. 29 in Orlando and the band will zigzag across the nation through the end of November.

Tickets for their Oct. 3 concert at The Tabernacle are $32.50 and $38 and go on sale at 10 a.m. July 31 at all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. A Citibank cardholder pre-sale begins on July 28.

Each ticket purchased to see Collective Soul live will come with a free download of the new album (upon its release).

The guys – singer Ed Roland, rhythm guitarist Dean Roland, bassist Will Turpin, lead guitarist Jesse Triplett and drummer Johnny Rabb – have unleashed the crunchy rocker "This," which finds singer Roland in fine visceral form. You can listen to it below or download here .
