So, what, exactly will Beyonce serve up during her Saturday “Lemonade” special on HBO?
Rumors have touched on everything from a docu-movie similar to her 2013 HBO special “Life is But a Dream” to a full slate of videos to coincide with a new album.
Given the cryptic trailer for “Lemonade” (“The past and the present merge to meet us here,” Queen Bey coos) and the quick cuts to various bizarre images, the latter seems most likely. And how typically Beyonce to once again ditch convention and essentially release an album on cable TV.
One thing we do know – even non-HBO subscribers will be able to tune into the hour-long special, which starts at 9 p.m. The subscription network and Cinemax will be offered for free Friday through Monday to coincide with the Beyonce surprise, as well as premieres of “Veep,” “Silicon Valley” and “Game of Thrones.”
The mega-star launches her "Formation" tour April 27 in Miami and brings the production to Atlanta's Georgia Dome May 1 . DJ Khaled opens.
