The 6th Annual Atlanta Jewish Music Festival will dot the Atlanta area March 12-23 with an array of musical performances.

For this year’s multi-day event, local, regional, national and international Jewish musicians, including Israeli performers Yael Deckelbaum and Diwan Saz at the March 21 “main event,” will play throughout the city.

The festival is the only annual celebration of Jewish music in the South.

Thursday, March 12 -- Opening Night Featuring  Jump Babylon

The 6th Annual Atlanta Jewish Music Festival begins with ska/roots/rock group Jump Babylon from Montreal.

Where: Steve's Live Music (234 Hilderbrand Drive N.E.). 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. $20 (general admission) and $80 (reserved table for four) for 7:30 p.m. show. $15 (general admission) and $60 (reserved table for four) for 9:30 p.m. show. www.steveslivemusic.com.

Friday, March 13 – Shabbat Service

Ahavath Achim Synagogue and Congregation Bet Haverim musicians will celebrate the spirit and ruach of sacred Jewish music through Kirtan chanting.

Where: Ahavath Achim Synagogue (600 Peachtree Battle Ave. N.W.). Service is 7:30 p.m. Free.

Saturday, March 14 – "Fortress" Release Show Featuring  Zale  & Friends

Georgia singer/songwriter Hannah Zale is releasing her debut solo record “Fortress” in 2015.

Sunday, March 15 – Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) Hunger Walk/Run

AJMF will produce a stage at the 31st annual Hunger Run Walk. Artists TBA.

Where: Turner Field. Event begins noon, walk/run begins 2 p.m. See ACFB website for registration details.

Sunday, March 15, 2015 –  Red Heifers

Macon-based band Red Heifers perform their modern improvisation of Klezmer, Zydeco and other world music styles.

Where: Congregation Beth Shalom (5303 Winters Chapel Road). 7:30 p.m. Free.

Friday, March 20 – Shabbat Ruach

Join Rabbi Brian Glusman, Cantor Lauren Adesnik, Sammy Rosenbaum, and local musicians from the AJMF community for a Shabbat Ruach celebration featuring timeless melodies, new creations and soothing grooves.

Where: Temple Emanu-El (1580 Spalding Drive). Service is 6:30 p.m. Free.

Saturday, March 21 – Main Event Featuring  Yael Deckelbaum  and  Diwan Saz

Israeli artists Yael Deckelbaum and Diwan Saz will headline AJMF6.

Sunday, March 22 – Interfaith Dialogue Featuring members of Diwan Saz

Members of Diwan Saz will converse with community leaders about their lives in the Middle East and how they are using music to promote peace.

Sunday, March 22 – Cantorial Showcase Featuring Cantors Adesnik, Hartman, Kassel and Margulis

Cantors Lauren Adesnik, Deborah Hartman, Nancy Kassel and Barbara Margulis will join together to celebrate sacred music from across the ages.

Where: Temple Emanu-El (1580 Spalding Drive). 4:30 p.m. Free.

Monday, March 23 –  Holocaust Remembrance Concert  Featuring Dr. Laurence Sherr, Summit Trio and local Atlanta musicians

Led by Dr. Laurence Sherr, this event featuring music of resistance and survival will create connections to the lost and forbidden voices of composers, songwriters and poets lost during the Holocaust.

Where: The Temple (1589 Peachtree St. N.E.). 8 p.m. Free.
