The July 4th weekend in Atlanta is full of great music opportunities. Here are some of the shows you are certain to enjoy - at The Tabernacle, Chastain Park Amphitheatre, Wolf Creek Amphitheater in south Fulton and City Winery at Ponce City Market.
FRIDAY
Noel Gallagher
The former Oasis mastermind has been a regular presence in Atlanta — most recently performing at the 2015 edition of the Shaky Knees Music Festival . While still touring behind second album "Chasing Yesterday," released in February 2015, the prickly-yet-uber-talented artist always dots his set lists with a handful of Oasis classics, including "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova."

Joe Walsh and Bad Company
Dubbed “One Hell of a Night,” the tour featuring Eagles guitarist Walsh and Bad Company (Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke) winds down a couple of nights after the Atlanta date, so the rockers should be primed to let it rip. Headliners have rotated in each city (Walsh joked that if it’s a long bus ride, he’s going on first). Performing with Walsh will be some of his backing band members from his record-setting solo Walsh Tour 2015, including Joe Vitale, Chad Cromwell, Waddy Wachtel, Larry Young and Jimmy Wallace.

The Affordable Old School Concert Series
Dru Hill, En Vogue, Tony Toni Tone and Troop headline the July edition of the popular series at Wolf Creek. The ‘90s will come alive as the acts present hits including “In My Bed” and “Never Make a Promise” (Dru Hill); “Giving Him Something He Can Feel” and “Don’t Let Go (Love)” (En Vogue); and “Feels Good” and “Whatever You Want” (Tony Toni Tone).

The Brand New Heavies
London’s funk-jazz-meisters haven’t released a new album in more than a decade, but are reportedly planning a 2016 drop for “TBNHND,” with original singer N’Dea Davenport on vocals. The band known in the U.S. for its 1994 dance hit, “Dream On Dreamer,” also plans to release “Heavy Rhyme Experience Vol. 2” — the follow-up to 1992’s “Vol. 1” — in 2017.

String Cheese Incident
The Colorado jammers earlier this month released a free EP, "SCI Sound Lab, Volume 1," via their website ( www.stringcheeseincident.com ) and are celebrating it as the first release from their new recording facilities called SCI Sound Lab. The three-song EP comes from sessions with producer (and former Talking Heads member) Jerry Harrison. The band said it plans to release new music online periodically as an alternative to the "sometimes arduous process of releasing an album."

Leon Russell
When the stately pianist played Terminal West last year , he brought with him a set list that spanned his Oklahoma roots (Ivory Joe's "Kansas City Woman"), B.B. King ("Hummingbird") and gospel ("His Eye Is on the Sparrow"). While his nasally tone is an acquired taste, it's suggested not to miss an opportunity to hear the master sing "A Song for You."
