U2 has announced the initial dates of its “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour” (the wacky capitalization is theirs).

The band will so far play 19 cities worldwide with pairs of shows in each city – likely one unplugged and one electric, or, as Bono said in a statement, “a completely different feeling from night one to night two.”

There is no Atlanta date yet (or anything south of New York), but it’s a safe bet that will change.

This is the first time U2 is playing indoor arenas in more than a decade – good news for fans who prefer a more intimate experience than their grandiose 360° Tour.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8. Those who are paid subscribers to U2.com will have access to tickets starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4. Ticket prices range from $35-$280.

U2 is touring behind their latest album, “Songs of Innocence,” which was delivered to iTunes Music Store customers without warning in September. Apple says the album has been streamed 81 million times and downloaded by 30 million fans.

In other U2 news, Bono continues to recover from the serious injuries he incurred during a biking accident in New York last month. The singer is currently in Dublin and the band has canceled its appearance at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas concert in Los Angeles Dec.14.
