New Americans: Georgia State campus leader embraces Latino roots

The AJC's New Americans series includes profiles of college students, including German Botello, the son of Mexican immigrants who are now U.S. citizens. A senior at Georgia State University, Botello is the first in his family to attend a four-year university.

The riveting AJC series focuses on the experiences of first-generation Americans, from the challenges to the rewards. In each case, these young Americans are committed to giving back to their community and their country.
