We all know Georgia is home to some amazing barbecue, and now two local restaurants are being recognized for their "essential" dishes.

The spicy Korean pork sandwich at Heirloom BBQ in Atlanta and the Brunswick stew at Southern Soul Barbecue on St. Simons Island were both named to Eater.com's guide of "23 Essential Barbecue Dishes in the U.S." Texas Monthly's barbecue editor Daniel Vaughn and, food and drink writer Jennifer V. Cole and Eater New York's restaurant editor Nick Solares assisted in compiling the list -- see the full list here.

Heirloom Market, located at 2243 Akers Mill Rd SE, is owned by Cody Taylor and Jiyeon Lee, who reportedly closed Sobban in Decatur in order to focus on opening a second location of their popular Atlanta restaurant Heirloom Market BBQ in South Korea, where Lee is from.
