Perimeter Mall is down a tenant after the closure of Varasano's Pizza last week.

The restaurant opened less than a year ago on the side of the mall facing Ashford Dunwoody Road. It featured "a hybrid fast casual concept, offering personal-sized pizzas and a more convenient experience where tipping is not required," according to a press release, though that concept was later tweaked to feature larger pizzas and full service, similar to  Varasano's Buckhead location at 2171 Peachtree St. The restaurant also has a Hartsfield-Jackson Airport location in Terminal A.

Owner Jeff Varasano told Tomorrow's News Today that he blamed lower than expected traffic at the mall for the restaurant's closure. The AJC's attempts to reach Varasano via email and phone last week and today were unsuccessful.

There are no signs up at the restaurant indicating it's closed, and the closure hasn't been addressed on social media.

It's not all bad news on the Perimeter food front -- Cowfish Burger opened in April and Shake Shack is set to open at the mall this year .
