Chipotle is trying to lure customers to order their vegan Sofritas menu item. Today, January 26, customers who order Sofritas will be able to redeem their receipt for a free entree on a return visit. The offer is valid any date between January 27 and February 28.
What is Chipotle's Sofritas? It's an organic, non-GMO tofu braised with chipotle chilis, roasted poblanos and a blend of spices. For those who have never tried tofu, it has a similar texture to eggs. Chipotle began serving Sofritas in Spring 2013 and realized the menu item was popular with meat-eaters as well.
Mark Crumpacker, chief marketing and development officer at Chipotle said, “This promotion is designed to expose even more of our customers to Sofritas and hopefully give them one more reason to love Chipotle.”
