Free lunch or dinner. Vegetarian food fest. Chili—and lots of it. This weekend, there’s a slew of fun, food events happening around town. Add one or all six of the following events to your calendar and be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time. Cheers to the weekend!
Vegetarian festival: With food samples, cooking demonstrations, kids activities and a bevy of exhibitors, the fourth annual Atlanta Veg Fest will offer something for everyone—vegetarian or not. The celebration will be held from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 in the Easley Conference Pavilion at Atlanta Metropolitan State College. The first 300 attendees will receive goodie bags with sample products and coupons. The event is free, but a $5 door donation is suggested.
Chili festival: Mix more than 100 different types of chili, music, art, food vendors and more and you'll arrive at the 13th annual Chomp & Stomp Festival , which takes place from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
A taste of the holidays: Before making your holiday grocery list, swing by The Fresh Market to sample spiral sliced ham, shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, holiday sides and desserts from 12-6 p.m. Nov. 7 – 8. With two days of tasty seasonal favorites, you may be tempted to forgo cooking Thanksgiving dinner. The Fresh Market would be totally fine with that since you can pre-order an entire holiday meal or order à la carte items. One other thing: there are 14 locations throughout Georgia, including eight in metro Atlanta. That's worth giving thanks for.

Every second Sunday of the month, Portofino will offer scrumptious plates of dill and brown sugar cured salmon, shrimp and polenta, duck Benedict and new pasta dishes.
Sip and sign: Jonathan "The Cocktail Guru" Pogash will be slinging drinks and signing copies of the newest edition of "Mr. Boston's Official Bartending Guide," which he edited, from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at GRAIN .
BOGO free meal: As part of its month-long anniversary, gusto! will offer a buy-one-get-one free lunch or dinner to students and faculty who present their school ID. This promotion will be valid all day Sunday, Nov. 8.
