Free froyo. Free King of Pops. An all-star James Beard dinner. There’s lots of fun food events happening around town this weekend. Add one or all five of the following events to your calendar and be prepared to eat, drink and have a grand ole time. Most of all, thank goodness it’s Friday.
Treats—the cocktail kind: From 4 p.m. to close Saturday, Oct. 31, One Eared Stag will offer $3 glasses of spooky punch, a special $5 tapas menu and $1 oysters and beers. Guests who show up wearing a costume will receive a free treat from behind the bar.
A bloody good time: For a delightfully sinful Halloween party, head to the rooftop of W Atlanta – Buckhead for Whiskey Blue 's Haunted Rooftop Halloween party beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Party goers will sip on signature concoctions including The Walking Dead, which features a dash of Milagro Silver tequila, a pinch Lillet Rose and a splash of lemon juice. DJ Rimby will spin the hottest tunes in town and prizes will be given to those with the best costumes. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at www.whiskeyblue.xorbia.com.
Free Pops: You know what makes fall better? Free admission to the King of Pops Field Day and free pops. From 12-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 at Masquerade Music Park, attendees will be able to party with live bands, savor savory bites from food trucks, participate in games, face painting and partake in the annual popsicle eating contest.

Anniversary celebration: To celebrate their one-year anniversary, gusto! will offer month-long deals starting with a free pumpkin pie frozen yogurt made with pumpkin puree and nutmeg from 3-9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1.
All-star James Beard dinner: Satiate your appetite with some of the best dishes prepared by Anne Quatrano of Bacchanalia, David Berry of Bellina Alimentary and a bevy others including Ponce City Market's chefs, James Beard award-winning chefs, nominees and southern semi-finalists at Sunday Supper South , a gathering of fine food, good times and great people. Known as the Friends of James Beard Dinner, the highly coveted family-style feast will kick off with cocktails at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 at Ponce City Market .
